Tom worked many days the first few weeks of the month taking Mel Fisher investors out to dive and a few other dive charters. Since he has finished his scuba instructor class he has been busy and even earning a few bucks!

Hurricane season officially started June 1. The experts have estimated 9-14 named storms, 4-7 hurricanes and 1-3 major hurricanes. Nothing on the horizon yet but usually it is Aug and Sept that are the worst months.

Ashlyn (or Peanut as we call her) was a month old June 9th and celebrated her first Fathers Day with Brandon. Here is a picture of her Fathers Day outfit. I am sure you see Taryn's fashion statement in it. I am sure dance lessons are in her future. We are meeting Tom's mom, sister and nephew in Richmond in Aug so that will be a great visit. Plus with the web cam we get to see her anytime we want which is grand!
I was in New Jersey for work for a week, then home for a week and on June 20 we left our island to vacation on another island. Where else does someone who lives on an island go!
We got to spend a great week on St Croix in the USVI with Jan and Ray. They are going to start building a house on the beach front lot they bought we went to check it out and have a vacation at the same time.
We rented a house that overlooked the ocean. and spent the week hanging out on the beaches, diving and relaxing which was what I needed after the pace I have had at work lately. Slept in late the first 3 days! The picture to the right is Tom looking out to the ocean from the patio. We spent most of our time there when we were at the house.
The diving was amazing. It was what I remembered the USVI being since it has been a number of years since we have dove there. We only got a few dives in since relaxing was the goal but enough to give us the bug to go back and stay again when we can dive more. The best of the diving was that I got to see my first sea horses. They were so amazing and were hang out under the Fredricksted pier. We were able to see at least 8 of them in various colors, my favorite being the purple one. Such a treat!!
Then after a great week it was back to our island and back to work. Now we are getting ready for July which brings the holiday on the 4th and Mel Fisher Days. More good times to come!
If you want a day to day update on island life and to see pictures from the St Croix trip then check out my site on Facebook. I am regularly posting there.
