I want to be a Pirate

Part of the journey to KW this weekend is to full fill Tom's dream of being a Pirate. He hopes to be able to get a job with Mel Fisher as a treasure salvage diver which is as close to being a pirate as he can get. I thought you all would enjoy his interview attire that include a hat 'Pirates for Hire' and a shirt that has his company logo ARRRRRGGGHH (yes you can find anything on the internet). The back of the shirt has a skull and cross bones so this was perfect. And yes this is the name of his company, actually the company name is ARRRGGH Diving and Salvage. To be a salvage diver he has to have is own company and have a independent contract with MF.

The Adventure Begins

So we decided that this would be a great place to log the Key West (KW) moving adventure.
Check back as often as you would like to see the latest info. I will post (Myrla, not Tom) as often as there are updates.

This weekend we have been calling on places to rent. We are flying out to KW on Thurs 1/31 and will fly back to Phx on Sun 2/3 to look at them. We will get back just in time for the Super Bowl!

Apartment looking has been interesting. We have been using Craigslist and the KW Classifieds on line. So far we have 5 to look at. The majority are 2 bedroom/ 1 bath and all but 1 is in Old Town where we wanted to be. The biggest challenge has been finding a place that will take Dyna. Most of them wont allow a dog her size. At least we have found a few that are dog lovers!
In the usual island lifestyle we don't have to a set appointment to look at them. We are just supposed to call when we are ready to look at one and they will meet us. Love that laid back island style!
